Eric Davis Professional Baseball Player, Former St. Louis Cardinals right fielder. Diagnosed in 1997 at age 35. Had no symptoms.

Laxmi Prasad Devkota* Poet Laureate, who began to show poetic genius from a very young age, is regarded as the creator of Nepalese romanticism -- a progressive trend in Nepali literature. He elevated the literary stature of Nepal in the eyes of the world and was perhaps the first writer in Nepal who rose to majestic heights. In 1958, Devkota was diagnosed with cancer and three inches of cancerous colon was removed in India. He died in 1959 of colon cancer at the age of 50.


Darrell Evers*, son of slain civil rights activist Medgar Evers (NAACP leader) died of colon cancer, age 47. A quote from the obituary "He expressed his views through art, and his avant-garde paintings were collected by Henry Luce II, hair designer Vidal Sassoon and others". He also founded a quality control DVD company in Burbank.
Malcolm Denzil Marshall* (April 18, 1958 - November 4, 1999) was a West Indian cricketer, regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers ever to have played; some have suggested he was the finest of all. In 1999, however, during the World Cup the shocking news broke that he had colon cancer. He immediately left his coaching job to begin treatment, but this was ultimately unsuccessful and he returned to his home town, where he died on 4 November just 41 years old.
